Repetitive Motion Syndromes
The most common type of Repetitive Motion Syndrome is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which involves the soft tissue of the hand and wrist area. But many areas of the body that are used repetitively in the same way and are not properly stretched or released can develop painful symptoms. There are also postural causes of pain in this category such as standing with knees locked back, sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time, playing a musical instrument or a one-sided sport. Massage and stretching are great ways to counter the effects of these repetitive motions.
